Get started with Client Accounting in MYOB Practice Compliance

Use this guide to learn about Client Accounting, set it up for your practice, add your first client and start working with client ledger data in Practice Compliance.

What is Client Accounting?

Client Accounting helps your practice bring client ledger data into one place, reduce manual work and prepare financial and management reports more efficiently.

With Client Accounting, you can sync or import ledger data, prepare workpapers and generate reports using your practice’s customised styles.

Setting up your practice

These setup steps can only be completed by a Client Accounting administrator. If you’re the administrator, you’ll have received a confirmation email from MYOB.

Start by adding users and creating report styles for your practice. Go to compliance.myob.com and use your MYOB credentials to access Client Accounting

  • Add users: Create users and customise their access levels.

  • Create styles: Use our pre-configured report bundles available to add styles and customise the reports for your practice by adding logos, colours, headers, footers, etc.

Your day-to-day workflow

Now you've set up your practice settings, you can start by adding your first client and syncing their ledger

Log in to MYOB Practice Compliance, then choose the client you want to set up financial reports for.

Here’s the day-to-day workflow you need for each client:

  1. Choose the client you want to prepare financial reports for.

  2. Add client data by syncing an online ledger or import from a csv file.

  3. Map the chart of accounts to an standardised chart for consistency.

  4. Get an overview of client ledger to view the workflow statuses and manage the client's communication.

  5. Prepare workpapers to check your client’s financial data before preparing financial statements.

  6. Generate financial statements using your practice's customised style.
